There is a metaphor for humanity, a vision: a stained glass window. Each pane shines with its own color, its own depth. Each piece of glass tells its own story... even as each piece is also part of a larger stroy, a larger image. So it is with people. It is our nature to shine, and to be invested in the shining of one another... for if any piece is dimmed, the whole image suffers.
The arts are a playground for human expression. We take risks. We find our own voice, and join it with others. We find community; we create community. And we are all changed for it.
The shared ministry of UUSGS is creative at its core, so it makes sense that we put a lot into the arts. We do this not only for ourselves but in service to our wider community, especially at a time when arts opportunities and funding may be under threat. We want to ensure that everyone has a place to find their voice, to join it with others, and to make something beautiful - and powerful - together. Join us!
