At 19, Madi has spent a more than half of their life involved with UUSGS. Madi has found, and taken full advantage of, opportunities to develop their passions and offer their talents to the community.
Madi is active in our adult choir and our community theater group, the Unity House Players. You may have spotted them on stage in our recent productions of "The Prom", "Hadestown:Teen Edition", or "Robot Nature".

Madi also helps younger congregants experience the joy of music through their volunteer service. Madi plays instruments and has helped teach vocal parts to members of the children’s choir and “Joyful Noise".

The rich music scene at UUSGS isn’t the only draw for Madi. They value being part of a community that’s truly welcoming.

“They're super accepting of not only all genders and sexualities, but no matter what baggage you may come with, they're always going to have open arms and welcome you into the community,” Madi says. “I feel super safe there, because everyone is willing to listen.”

Madi believes her life would be pretty different without UUSGS: “It gives me a lot of opportunities to explore my spirituality that I wouldn't have otherwise” and “to enrich how I think,” along with new friends.

“It’s basically a second home to me,” Madi says. We’re grateful they're a part of our family!
