For nearly a decade now, we have hosted a community meal on Wednesday evenings.  We call it Soulful Supper, nourishment for body & soul.  Many folks depend on the routine of Supper, which we love and take seriously.  That said... we need to put this important gathering on hold for a short while, beginning this coming week.  We hope to resume Suppers by February 2026.

In January, we anticipate beginning some work in our community's kitchen.  The capital campaign team has been raising money and prompting our imagination in the kitchen for a while now.  But when our dishwasher gave out recently (and the pipes carrying water to it), our timeline advanced.  Now is the time to begin.

But... before we bring in new equipment, we have some cleaning out to do in there.  We also want to address the floor before replacing and/or adding any new equipment.  (Stay tuned for a work party or two to move this along - maybe even on Wednesdays. Some of this work can be done by us; some will be done by paid professionals.  Money, time, energy... there are lots of ways to pitch in!)

Imagine a kitchen that is easy to use and easy to clean.  Imagine a welcoming space for teams of volunteers cooking fresh food together, laughing, enjoying their time together.  Imagine better storage and prep spaces.  Imagine showing off our kitchen with pride.  Many of us know the joys of preparing food together and serving it.  Imagine a kitchen that makes that sacred task easier, not harder.  That's what we're building together.

Until the kitchen is ready and Suppers resume, there lots of other ways to connect... weekends and weekdays, in person and online.  Be curious; stay connected.  And if food insecurity is an issue for you or yours, please be in touch with Rev. Jason.  We'd love to help out however we can.

Thank you for your pateince as we evolve our space to better serve our needs.  Thank you for your generous support of the capital campaign that funds this work.  Thank you (in advance) for rolling up your sleeves and making space in January.  And thank you to all who have made -- and continue to make -- UUSGS a place of nourishment and community, of sacred meals and sacred moments.  Here's to more to come!
