You are warmly invited to a family-friendly Winter Solstice Celebration at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 4:00–5:30 PM, as we gather to honor the Winter Solstice—the longest night of the year and a turning point toward the return of light, a time held across cultures as a season of rest, reflection, and renewed hope. We will begin in the Sanctuary brief shared readings and poems honoring winter and the solstice and a grounding meditation—before moving to Friendship Hall to restore and rekindle the fire, burn written wishes. Warm mulled cider, gluten-free ginger snaps, and fresh sunbread rolls will be shared around the fire, as candlelight, evergreens, and community remind us that even in the deepest darkness, warmth, connection, and light endure. All are welcome.
