When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him.  (Luke 24:13)

While traveling one of life's many roads... people met one another.  They became known to one another.  This connection -- of becoming known... as people, as sacred -- occurred through the breaking of bread together.

This morning, we gather at table for Easter, inspired by the first-century invitation to come to know one another... to build community rooted in the inherent worth and dignity of every person.  Together, we embody a way as ancient as it is needed today -- not in awaiting a single savior but in embodying the Beloved Community together.
