Open Call Auditons for Unity House Players' spring musical
Friday January 9^th 2026 6PM* & Saturday January 10^th 1PM*

*Please note- we’d like to see those interested in playing teen characters during the first hour of auditions and those interested in playing the older adult characters during the second hour of each audition day. • Please prepare 16-32 bars (or approx. 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show.
• An accompanist will not be provided. Please bring a track on an aux cable compatible device or be prepared to sing acapella.
• Also please prepare a short 1 minute comic monologue that showcases your style and a strong character.
• Please expect to stay to learn a short movement combination (dance call later that day).
• You are encouraged to bring your theatrical resume, but not required.
• A photo and/or video may be taken at auditions.
• Please be familiar with the show, schedules, character information, and requirements as described below. All genders and ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Show Synopsis:

Four fading Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town Indiana prom—and the press is involved— they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. Now, Broadway’s brassiest are coming to join the fight and they are ready to kick-ballchange the world.

Performance dates: April 24,25, 26, May 1, 2, 3

Rehearsals are expected to be held mostly on Wednesday and Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons starting mid-February with occasional Tuesdays and Fridays. Not everyone will be called at all times. More days may be added as we approach tech week and opening night. Please make sure your complete availability is filled out on your auditionee profile form.

You may fill out the Auditionee Profile Sheet ahead of time and bring it with you to auditions or fill it out in person when you arrive. People will be assigned an audition number when they check in on audition day.
