We’re happy to report that an important hurdle has been cleared in the kitchen and we’re one step closer to seeing visible changes in the kitchen. A ductwork mystery has been solved! Instead of ripping up concrete, a camera was used to map out existing duct work and inform HVAC and plumbing professionals where ductwork for warm air and pipes for water near our future new dishwasher could live safely together. Thank you to John Benoit and James Fiore for taking the lead here. Meanwhile equipment and storage options are getting priced. We do not have the grand total of what it will cost to renovate the kitchen and we do know that new funds are needed to see the project through completion. Existing funds are marked for the flooring project, drawing up the kitchen plans, the duct work mentioned above and campaign marketing.

A big thank you to those who have made three year pledges and one time donations in the last few months. No gift is too small! Here’s another way to think about your potential giving capacity. Let’s pretend you subscribe to a streaming service that you don’t watch as much anymore. Let’s pretend that streaming service costs about $20 a month. That’s $240 a year, which would allow you to make a $720 pledge over the course of three years if you canceled that streaming service. What would you be willing to sacrifice in our order to help our spiritual community live out its values in more meaningful ways?

If you have not begun your three year pledge commitment or need to ask questions that would move your discernment forward, please reach out to the POP leadership team at possibilities@uuspringfield.org. We can’t wait to hear from you!
