“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.” – Rabindranath Tagore

Much is made these days of individual goals and accomplishments.  Which is fine, because some accomplishments are surely worthy of sacrifice and celebration.

But much of the richness of life is beyond our control.  You cannot force a flower to bloom.  You cannot force the rain.  You cannot force friendship; we cannot force love to grow, or grief to fade.  Life rarely moves in a straight line, and we are always shaped by the unexpected.

Our nature as human beings, therefore, is not only about what we control but also how we adapt, independently and together.  Not only about how we lead but also how we follow.
