The mission of UUSGS is: the free and unrestricted development of the human spirit for the good of all.

Core values of Unitarian Universalism include: the inherent worth and dignity of all people… and justice, equity and compassion in human relations.

To these ends, UUSGS has charged the “Restoring Wholeness: Racial Justice Task Force” with moving the congregation toward racial healing and racial justice.  Tactics include: institutional partnerships, educational events, films, and dialog.

We all know that racism is bad.  This is common sense, and it is confirmed by our religious values.  But did you know that the Springfield metropolitan area is one of the most segregated in the country?  The work we are called to do is closer than we may think.
