Offering nominations are welcomed year-round. A nomination form is available online – click HERE.
Like many, we collect an Offering during most Sunday services. But unlike many collections, we give all of our Offering away! Every week, our Offering collection is given away to support organizations – nominated by our members – who are doing good work in our communities.
Why do we do this? We regard this gesture, done regularly, as a part of our spiritual practice… to encourage generous hearts… to envision what is possible when we work together… and to deepen our connection to those in our communities who are working to make the world a more just & loving place for everyone.
Last year, we gave away over $40,000 to partner organizations, many of whom are active locally. Since we’ve started giving away our collection, we’ve donated over $125,000. We’ve done this mostly through small donations pooled together each week. We’re proud of what we’ve done, even as we stretch each week to do more. Every contribution matters, especially when we work together, and especially when guided by a spirit of generosity and solidarity.

You may be asking the question: “How do we afford to do this?” The answer is simple. The day-to-day work of the congregation is supported by members and friends, mostly through recurring donations. Some tithe; others give when they can. For more information about supporting the ongoing ministry of UUSGS, click HERE… also available by clicking the DONATE tab in the upper right.
Generous hearts rejoice: love will prevail!!
