We are not saints, we are not heroes. Our lives are lived in the quiet corners of the ordinary. We build tiny hearth fires, sometimes barely strong enough to give off warmth. But to the person lost in the darkness, our tiny flame may be the road to safety...        -- Kent Nerburn

To hope is to accept despair as an emotion but not as an analysis. -- Rebecca Solnit

To some, "choosing hope" may seem like fluff or feelings, of bright-siding: looking at the world through rose-colored glasses.  To others, hope is survival.  Hope is deeper than optimism, or believing things will turn out well.  Hope is the idea that things can improve... that despite how things are, and despite the uncertainty of the future, our actions still matter.

Find your feet this morning once again on the rock of universal love... as we endeavor to choose hope together.  Let us call forth the power of possibility - within, among, and beyond.  Rev. Jason will kick of this month's theme with a timely message; the UUSGS adult choir will sing a song just for you.  :-)
