What is a Unitarian Universalist?

Not everyone in our congregation believes the same thing.  Not only is this not a bad thing… it’s great!  We feel that our diversity of beliefs – and the mutual respect and dialog that join diverse beliefs within our congregation – is one of our greatest strengths.  We intentionally creates space for people to be themselves, and for lifelong learners to grow and explore religious identity in a supportive community.  This doesn’t diminish our sense of community or religious depth; far from it.  Rather, it is our respect for one another’s right of conscience and free belief that gives our tradition the depth, integrity and vitality we so enjoy.

Since many other religions distinguish themselves by shared beliefs, however… explaining our tradition can be a little tricky.  This video may help…
