Jennifer Seymour began serving as Youth Advisor at UUSGS in 2016. Twice before, Jen has served congregations in this role; we are lucky to have her at UUSGS. She brings great experience, enthusiasm, and approachability, and she is a trusted resource to parents and youth alike.
In addition to her fine work in the congregation, Jen has served on numerous district-level youth advisory teams. She has received special training in: suicide prevention, leadership development, and youth chaplaincy. She was also one of a small number of Youth Advisors nationwide selected by the UUA to facilitate Leadership Development conferences for – and with – youth. A philosophy of youth empowerment is evident in her approach.
While not having fun with teenagers at UUSGS, Jen is a yoga instructor and mother of two young boys. She enjoys cooking, knitting, reading (especially science fiction), and exercise (especially biking).
The Youth Advisor at UUSGS coordinates activities with the UUSGS Senior High Youth Group. Working alongside a team of volunteers, Jen reports to the Director of Religious Education. Jen is available to meet with youth and families by appointment.
